Marc Gruber is Vice President for Innovation at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. At EPFL, he also holds the Chair of Entrepreneurship & Technology Commercialization.
Marc is actively engaged in teaching, consulting, and executive trainig programs in Europe, the US and Asia, and regularly acts as a jury member in start-up and corporate entrepreneurship competitions across Europe. He is a world-leading researcher in the domains of innovation, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization, and co-author of a very popular book on technology commercialization: Where to Play.
From an academic perspective, Marc has multiple “Thought Leader” awards for his breakthrough research. In an independent study of the most impactful entrepreneurship scholars (Gupta et al., 2016), he was ranked as the worldwide #1 researcher in entrepreneurship for the 2005-2015 period (shared #1 spot), and among the worldwide top five for the 2000-2015 period. He is Deputy Editor for the #1 empirical research journal in management: Academy of Management Journal.
